December 5 is the Day of the Ninja Warrior.
You may be asking, what exactly is a Ninja warrior?
A brief definition from Webster’s Dictionary is:
A ninja (忍者) or shinobi (忍び, “to sneak”) was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, assassination and guerrilla warfare.
I have watched many movies where ninjas were a main focus and my kids even watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when they were small. LOL. However, when I think of ninjas today, I think of a few different things which involve how we live and our personal development.
Our perceptions and thoughts are like ninja warriors that are waiting at the gates of our minds. If we aren’t paying attention to our thoughts and reactions, the ninjas from the outside world will do their job. Self-doubt sneaks into our minds like a dark ninja. Doubt is is constantly spying on our thoughts just waiting for an opportunity to latch on to something. Doubt then infiltrates into everything in our lives, sabotages how we feel about ourselves, other people, and our mission in life. If left unchecked, the doubt will assassinate your potential and plans if you allow it to go unchecked. The guerrillas will descend and obliterate everything if you don’t know who you are or what you want and need. This is why it’s important to stay centered or grounded to know who we are and know what we need to be truly happy and fulfilled human beings.
So How Do You Guard Against These Dark Ninja Guerrillas?
Learning to understand how you think and how you react to life challenges will go a long way to keep the Ninjas away. Learning who you are and what you need to make yourself happy will give you the strength to pursue the important things in your life that will help you to fulfill your destiny. Knowing yourself is especially empowering and allows you then share your own gifts with the world.
But first of all, you need to know that learning about yourself and cultivating your gifts should be your first priority in life. As a woman and a Mom, I have struggled with this for a long time. I had thought that if I put myself first that I was being a “bad” mother or being selfish. It took me a lot of time to realize that by learning about myself and learning to love myself and putting myself first wasn’t selfish at all. In fact, it is teaching my children a powerful lesson.
“Self-value and self-worth are the most precious gift you can give to your children.”
The biggest question is how do you learn about yourself and what you need. The number one thing you need to do is carve out TIME to learn about yourself and find activities and interests that stimulate your soul and your mind.
It really can be anything that you enjoy: ceramics, writing, music, poetry, drama, walking in nature, etc. The goal is to find something that really lights you up inside.
Incorporating Intentional CreativityTM into your daily life is an excellent way to get to know yourself. Personally, I use painting and art. It suspends my brain and allows me think and look at situations and see things in a different way. Getting out paints, lighting a candle, and putting on some music that I love is like taking a mini vacation.
The most interesting thing about using art and creativity to get to know yourself is that it puts your brain into a more neutral state so that you can ask yourself the questions that you need answers to and incorporate this into your piece of art.
It works like meditation.
Art IS meditation.
100% of the time, the universe will answer you.
The most beautiful part of the creative process is that it helps you to also work out solutions to your biggest problems because you are pulling the answers from your own internal system. You aren’t looking outside for answers. You are going within.
You know everything you need, you just need a way to access your information! Art with Intentional CreativityTM allows you to access all that information and create your own little defensive Ninja Warriors that protect your mind and your body.
So let’s start training your own Ninja Warriors for protection … let’s get creative together. Visit painttheway.com for more information.
