One of the most beautiful and memorable events during your lifetime is the birth of your child. You waited nine long months in anticipation and finally crossed the hurdle of labor and delivery. You can finally hold the baby in your arms and look at their face and count their fingers and toes. Now it’s time for new adventures. The birth of a new baby brings excitement and it’s a time when you are entering new territory. Nothing rearranges your life like a new baby in the house! Whether you are a first time parent or already have other children at home, you are stepping into a new way of life.
Each child added to the home adds a new level of activity to deal with on a ongoing basis. Your life is literally a daily work in progress. Fortunately, friends and family are always willing to give advice so that you can benefit from their experiences and successes and also learn from their mistakes.
It’s great to have all of this wonderful support and advice. However, you need to be able to navigate and make decisions on how you want your life to be as a parent and how you want to shape your home life for your family by your desires and not by the world. Learning to do this can be a huge challenge.
If your partner or other parent is present, you have another layer of complication to add to the mix. Parents often have different parenting styles because they grew up in a different homes. Each parent is exposed to different customs, experiences, and have been parented differently than you. This difference can create a good balance or it can cause tremendous conflict between parents as their children grow. We all have different communication skills and discussing how you want your children to be raised can cause friction between you. That doesn’t make a happy home!
This is exactly why I created Bond With Baby. The goal is to celebrate the birth of your baby, while we increase your communication and create a vision and plan for common goals to parent your children from this point forward. Painting together improves connection and opens the door to easier communication in the future.
During Bond with Baby, I will help you to welcome your baby and strengthen your family bond using paint, canvas, and Intentional Creativitytm.
This painting process:
- celebrates and welcomes your child
- sets an intention and goal for the rest of your lives as parents
- creates a united cause and serves as a map to get you there
- encourages open communication between parents/caretakers
- includes the older siblings to make them feel special
- gives you a tangible canvas that can hang on your wall as a reminder of your vision and goals
It is an amazing and fun process that uses color, symbols, and your own internal guidance to create a stronger bond between parents and the child.
If you have other children, then can also be part of the process!
How Do I Know This Process Works?
I used this process to walk through my own grief for the loss of my Mom in 2014 and to navigate many other big life changes following that time. I have gone thru experiences not using it and then using it. I know this works because I use these same exact tools during these times of uncertainty and change and it actually transforms how I feel. It helped, and continues to help me to be more grounded, relieve my stress, and help me to tap into what I feel and helps me to make better choices.
When you are experiencing big shifts and changes, the world is uncertain and there is so much outside noise telling us what we “should” be doing. When you use art to tune in to what you are feeling and listen to what your subconscious, heart, and your body are telling you, you are given an opportunity to operate from your needs rather than the outside influences of the world.
This is true empowerment!
When you operate from you own center and guidance, you are empowered and do things that are good for YOU! Women, particularly tend to put the needs of everyone else ahead of their own.
If you begin your parenting with the goals and intentions, you won’t lose that connection with yourself or your partner.
I know deep within my heart that anyone can experience this transformation through this work if they allow themselves to have access to their own information (you have to be willing to go to those places) and allow themselves the time and space to work with it. No painting experience is necessary.
This isn’t about creating a piece of art.
This is about connecting with yourself and your own information to live and heal what needs to be healed.
You need to be strong and healthy parents to raise a healthy child!
The Process:
The most important thing to know is that no painting experience is necessary.
The painting method that we will use to transform your thoughts is called the Intentional Creativity Methodtm. This method is about accessing and connecting with your feelings and your subconscious mind. It helps you to establish a communication between the logical side of your brain and the feeling side of your brain. If the two sides can’t communicate, you often end up with your mind “running” on the treadmill unable to jump off. Using art and creativity will help you to break that loop of the constant churning of the same thoughts and helps you to establish new thought patterns.
Through mindfulness and introspection, we will take the time to explore your story/connection and your roles in each others lives. We will discuss the Legend of the Red Thread and make you aware of the invisible and unbreakable connection with your loved one.
We will create the artwork with the intention of creating a supportive and nurturing home for your child. You will decide what type of environment you will create and I will teach you how to incorporate that as part of your painting using color and symbolism.
Once you have that energy and intention as part of your painting, it becomes a part of your subconscious. Looking at the painting daily on your wall will give you guidance and strength to continue to work towards the goals you set on that day.
We will put this new energy and new story into the canvas. When you transform it on the canvas thru color and symbolism with the active movement of painting, it becomes a new part of your mind, subconscious, and your heart.
This painting process will help you to see a new perspective to rewrite your story of your past, present, and future.
This isn’t about talk therapy. You aren’t required to sit and talk about the past. However, if you have something that you would like to share it will be a safe space for doing so. However, what you share is your choice.
This isn’t about painting techniques. We will be working with some painting techniques. However, Bond with Baby provides you with an experience to connect energetically with your loved ones so that you may give yourself an opportunity to have your best possible life.
This is an active way to stay in the present while you create your future.
Who Can Do This:
Bond With Baby works for any age from ages 2 to 90 years old. I work with parents and children in the household. If you are a single parent, you can include someone who is a significant presence or caretaker in your child’s life.
I currently have up-to-date child clearances required by law.
Work can be scheduled individually, as a group, or as a family. The method adapts to the group or the situation.
How Soon After Birth Should You Do This Program?
You will know when the time is right and it’s better to do this process soon after delivery before you have set patterns and habits. If you read about it and it resonates with you, it’s time.
What I Provide:
- We will be painting on a canvas of a minimum of 16″ x 20″ and acrylic paint
- brushes and various creative materials
- light snacks, coffee, tea, and water
What You Bring:
- Yourself. We will be painting approximately 3 hours with a break, when needed.
- If you bring older children, bring snacks/drinks if they have specific items that they prefer.
My Mission: goal is to provide the tools of art, prompting, time away from your everyday life, and support so that you can explore and navigate life changes. You have the innate ability to access what you need. I am just assisting you with a hands-on way to do it. You are totally in control of this process. Even though this is difficult work, I consider it an honor to work with people in this way. If you would like further information or would like to schedule a session, please feel free to contact me
